Converting sawn timber into planed all round or finished profiles is a major part of our business.
Every year we machine millions of metres in our sawmill from a finished size of 6 x 20mm right up to 150 x 300mm and every size in between.
In 2019 we merged our two separate Tyneside machining facilities on to one site in Felling, Gateshead and a new purpose built 10000 square foot production facility was constructed to add to the existing machining buildings at Felling.
MHS have always followed a policy of continuous investment and this is also reflected in our machining too. Recent purchases include a new Stenner ST130 Band Resaw and two Weinig Powermat 1500 moulding machines with Powerlock technology together with accompanying grinder and setting stand.
In all we have 8 planer moulders, 6 band resaws (which can cut up to 600 x 600mm dimension and up to 18.3 metres (60’) long), 2 multirips as well as various cross cuts, spindle moulders and hand held machines for drilling, trenching and other such work. Good quality sawn timber and experienced machinists coupled with our own tool room equipment enables accuracy and consistency of production and ultimately customer satisfaction.
